Bria Valente

Beginning in the early ‘80s with Vanity, R&B legend Prince has had a long history of grooming exotically beautiful female musical protégés. Bria Valente was the 2009 edition. After meeting Prince in their mutual hometown of Minneapolis, Valente began working with the reclusive star to develop a smooth, mellow style which often recalled ‘70s quiet storm music. In an unusual move, Prince decided to release the young singer’s debut, ELIXER, as part of a triple album package with his own LOTUSFLOW3R and MPLSOUND albums, setting the stage for her exposure to the mainstream.
