Ashlie Amber

A native of Thornton, Colorado, Ashlie Amber started singing in public at a young age. But it was the death of her beloved father when she was 12 that focused her on performing, first to grapple with her grief, and then later as a way of life. She left high school and had a career on the theatrical stage, performing in Colorado productions of such classic musicals as Pippen, Avenue Q, and Hair. She put together a tribute to her idol, Whitney Houston, that landed her a spot performing on a cruise ship. She also auditioned for American Idol, and published an Ebook in 2018 about how the experience changed her life. Though she grew up listening to all kinds of music, she chose to start her career as a country artist. She went into the studio with Jamie Tate, and at the very end of 2019 released her first single, the pop-friendly modern country track “Almost Love”. The song gained exposure in the beginning of 2020, and Amber talked regularly in interviews about the experience of being an African American female singer in the white male dominated world of country music.
