Reggae love man Tinga Stewart motors down lovers lane on Dan Penn and Spooner Oldham's "I Do," setting the stage for this CD of American songs done old-school reggae style. Stewart emotes on "Love Ballad" (L.T.D.), "Ice Cream Song" (the Dynamics), and "I Wish He Didn't Trust Me So Much" (Bobby Womack); a female voice accompanies him on Debra Laws' "Very Special." The 17 titles are true testaments to what Stewart is about. There's nothing sociopolitical about his music; if it ain't about love it ain't about nothing.
