Los Chunguitos were among the very first to bring their beloved rumba gitana to modern, world savvy audiences. Alongside the influential group los Chicos, Juan, Manuel and Jose Salazar have long been recognized as pop music pioneers. Thanks to the combination of traditional melodic sense and their taste for modern, rock-oriented instrumentation, including electric bass, drums, and keyboards, los Chunguitos caught the world's attention and have held it for better than three decades now. The name los Chunguitos has become synonymous with both social consciousness and music excellence. Their 2006 release, Todo Chunguitos chronicles the group's long list of hits, 24 in all. In addition to two dozen of the Salazar brother's best loved work, EMI also presents 23 historic television appearances on the enhanced double-disc set. Both for longtime fans and first time listeners, Todo Chunguitos will prove a fascinating, engaging listen. Each track has been digitally remastered from the original analog tapes by Raul Ros, los Chunguitos longtime engineer.
