This Haitian worldbeat band is politically motivated. While the musicianship is lush and there is a real sense of theater about the songwriting and production here, there is a lack of communication toward the listener throughout. Even borrowing snippets, as they do on "Sevenlen/Sukiyaki (No More Excuses for the War)," from the hit musical Flower Drum Song, fails to bring the listener any closer to understanding just exactly what Boukman Eksperyans hopes to gain from Revolution.
