Live is a Four Letter Word is een vier nummers tellende EP, die is uitgebracht een paar maanden voordat Mrazs vierde album, Love Is a Four Letter Word, verscheen. Als je je zorgen maakte dat de korte duur van de EP Mraz niet in staat zou stellen om een bijdehand scheldkanon te zijn: maak je niet druk. Al op het tweede nummer zingt hij vrolijk “You f*****’ did it,” en scat hij maar wat als zijn woorden opraken. Maar dit is de uitzondering op de regel. Twee van de nummers zijn lovesongs, en “I Never Knew You” is een episch negen minuten durend nummer met veel spoken word. Voor de Mraz-fan die al een tijd zit te wachten op nieuw materiaal is dit een prima opwarmer voor een nieuw album van hem.
