Letter to Yu is het debuutalbum van de Belgische muzikant Bolis Pupul en de Yu aan wie hij een brief stuurt is zijn in 2008 overleden moeder. Voor zijn eerste plaat ging Pupul op zoek naar zijn Chinese roots en het verhaal van zijn in Hong Kong geboren moeder. Dat vertaalt zich in een plaat waarop veel ruimte is voor verdieping en bespiegelingen. Maar tegelijkertijd maakt Pupul ook ruimte voor songs waar het levensplezier vanaf spat. Zo is "Doctor Says" een heerlijke technokraker en is "Spicy Crab" een sprankelende electro-disco extravanganza.
