With twenty years of making wildly popular country music behind them, Alabama prove that they still have the winning touch with DANCIN' ON THE BOULEVARD, which includes more of the band's own compositions than fans have seen in years. DANCIN' is a return to Alabama's roots in another way as well, paying tribute to the spirit of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where the band spent their early years together playing for tips. "Dancin', Shaggin' on the Boulevard" in particular captures the lighthearted spirit of the beach in summertime: "Got the top down and the traffic's slow/Sun Fun Week and we all go/Where the girls are sunnin' and lookin' good/Well I never met 'em but I wish I could." Alabama makes their vast musical experience, including those famous tight harmonies, work for them on ballads, up-tempo songs, and harder-edged country rock, as well as a heartfelt cover of Smoky Robinson's "My Girl," a popular request by Alabama fans at live shows.
