Fans of British television dramas Foyle's War and Downton Abbey may be surprised to learn that Julian Ovenden is not only a regular feature on their TV screens, but also an accomplished singer. Having sung with the St. Paul's Cathedral Choir as a child, he later went on to read music on a choral scholarship at New College, Oxford. Be My Love is a celebration of Ovenden's love of Great American Songbook composers and lyricists, and features his interpretations of classics by Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, and the great partnerships of Rodgers & Hammerstein and Rodgers & Hart. This is in fact Ovenden's fourth release since his 2013 debut for Decca Records, If You Stay.
