On the competitive pianist market it is certainly difficult to get a place in the sun: the competition is huge. And what is already difficult alone is doubled in pairs, as 2 grand pianos can only be brought on stage (and into the studio) with circumstances. The piano duo Genova & Dimitrov have managed to play their way to the top and to document their impressive art on meanwhile six recordings for cpo. This new recital comes from the duo's explicit repertoire request: a pianistically highly virtuosic portrait of musical America, featuring works by George Gershwin, Aaron Copland and Leonard Bernstein.
