OMB Peezy

Mobile, Alabama-born rapper OMB Peezy makes introspective, soul-baring music defined by a flow that draws equally from West Coast influences and the artist's own Southern roots. Early mixtapes quickly gave way to more fully realized projects like 2021 album Too Deep for Tears and its 2023 successor Le'Paris. OMB Peezy was born LeParis Dade in 1997 and started rapping at age 12, soaking up Southern rap influences like Kevin Gates, Soulja Slim, and Masta P while developing his own style. He was still in his teens when he started to make serious waves with his music, dropping the blistering single "Lay Down" in 2016. The song caught the attention of many, including rapper Nef the Pharaoh; he played the track for Bay Area legend E-40, who signed Peezy to his 300 Entertainment/Sick Wid It label. Relocating to Sacramento, Peezy released the singles "When I Was Down" and "Porch" in 2017 before releasing his debut EP, Humble Beginnings, later that year. 2018 brought a bevy of singles as well as the mixtape Young & Reckless, a collaboration with Sherwood Marty, and Peezy's own mixtape, Loyalty Over Love. Finally, in April 2019, he made his full-length debut with Preacher to the Streets. Two years later he issued his sophomore effort, Too Deep for Tears, which includes features from King Von, Blac Youngsta, and Rylo Rodriguez, among others. Also in 2021, he released mixtape In the Meantime 2 in collaboration with Drum Dummie, and teamed with DJ Drama for 2022 mixtape Misguided. After various singles and one-off projects in 2023, OMB Peezy delivered his third studio album, Le'Paris, in December of that year. The album included featured appearances from Tee Grizzley, Kevin Gates, Hunxho, and others.
