"Vindicated" kicked off the soundtrack to the summer 2004 blockbuster Spider-Man 2, and became one of the collection's singles alongside Train's "Ordinary." It's also an effective meshing of Chris Carrabba's famously plaintive soul-searching and the conflicted center of the Spider-Man character. It's supported on this single by two tracks. The first is "Warmth of the Sand," a blend of warm memories ("Summer/Summer/Where all the girls bear olive shoulders...") that originally appeared on the Vagrant Records comp Another Year on the Streets, Vol. 3, and an acoustic version of the Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar highlight "Hands Down."
