The Lost Songs of St Kilda started life in an Edinburgh care home where Trevor Morrison entertained his fellow residents with simple yet complex piano pieces he had learned from a piano teacher who originally resided on the now uninhabited island of St Kilda. Realizing the importance of the songs, one of the care home volunteers bought a cheap microphone to record them for posterity. Brought together for the first time, the album sees the original Trevor Morrison pieces sitting alongside rearranged pieces by Sir James MacMillan and Craig Armstrong.
