Why The Persuasions were never able to generate much action while on commercial labels is a mystery. They made fine albums for A&M and Capitol, but just couldn't get any hits. While it was true that '70s tastes were geared more toward funk, "sweet" soul, and vocal groups with elaborate arrangements and production, there still should have been room for The Persuasions' classic harmonizing. At any rate, this was one of a couple of fine albums they made in the early '70s for Capitol. It's long out of print, and probably won't be reissued any time soon, if ever.
