Client Liaison

Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, the electronic pop duo Client Liaison was formed in 2009 by singer Monte Morgan and keyboardist Harvey Miller, who met while attending Geelong Grammar School in Victoria. Creating a sound influenced by late-1980s electronica, early-'90s house music, and Australian pop culture, the group earned notoriety in 2012 for the song "End of the Earth," whose music video featured clips from vintage Australian movies, TV shows, and commercials. Two years later, Morgan and Miller released the self-titled Client Liaison EP, which peaked at Number 3 on the Australian Independent Albums chart and Number 76 on the ARIA chart. Client Liaison also released the non-album single "Free of Fear," which was nominated for "Best Music Video" at the 2014 J Awards. The full-length debut album Diplomatic Immunity followed in 2016 and received critical raves for its appropriation of 1980s pop influences, with the record charting at Number 15 in Australia. "World of Our Love," Diplomatic Immunity's lead single, went gold that same year. Client Liaison won "Best Electronic Act" at the Music Victoria Awards in 2017 and released a non-album single, "Survival in the City," in 2018. Beginning with 2019's "The Real Thing," the group began releasing a string of singles that ultimately appeared on Client Liaison's second studio album, Divine Intervention, which was released in 2021 and marked the group's first time cracking the Top 10 in Australia.
