Sohyang

Dubbed "the Korean Mariah Carey" by The Korea Herald, vocalist Sohyang was born in Gwangju, South Korea, on April 5, 1978. She initially performed as a gospel singer, making her public debut in 1996 and releasing a handful of albums as a member of the Christian band POS. Things changed in 2012, when Sohyang began making high-profile appearances on Korean TV shows like I Am A Singer, The King of Mask Singer, and Immortal Songs: Singing the Legend. Praised for her vocal control and power, she became a household name in South Korea, touring the country with fellow crooner Michael Bolton and overdubbing the singing voice of Moana in the Korean version of Disney's Moana. She also appeared on the Korean music charts, scoring hits with K-pop ballads like 2020's "Hello."
