Skambankt
Norwegian hard rock band Skambankt made their album debut in 2004 and rose to Top Ten success a few years later. Part of the band's popularity is attributable to the fact that frontman Terje Winterstø Røthing is also a member of Kaizers Orchestra, a chart-topping Norwegian alternative rock band in which he goes by the alias Killmaster Kaizer and plays guitar. Founded in 1994 in Klepp, Norway, Skambankt are comprised of Ted Winters (vocals, guitar; born Terje Winterstø Røthing), Hanz Panzer (guitar; born Hans Egil Løe), Don Fist (bass; born Tollak Friestad), and Bones Wolsman (drums; born Børge Henriksen). The band made its commercial recording debut in 2004 with the eponymous album Skambankt. Released in Norway on Tuba Records and in Denmark on Kick Music, the album spawned the promotional singles "Me Sa Nei!" and "KKK!," for which videos were filmed. These videos were included on Skamania (2005), a six-track EP comprised primarily of new material. Skambankt's second full-length effort, Eliksir (2007), was a mainstream breakthrough hit, reaching the Top Ten of the Norwegian albums chart. It includes the singles "Tyster," "Dynasti," and "Stormkast." Third album Hardt Regn (2009) was even more successful, reaching the Top Five. It includes the singles "Malin" and "O Dessverre."
