Mardi Gras.BB
Formed in 1992 as the Mardi Gras Brass Band, the group led by ex-Guru Guru Uli Krug and Jochen Wenz (aka Doctor Wenz) continues the big band tradition, spicing up the genre with a particularly spicy blues and rock sauce. Renamed Mardi Gras.bb in 1999 with the release of Alligatorsoup, the alternative collective was reduced to a trio for the 2005 album Introducing the Mighty Three. The music changes with each release, from jazz to alternative punk, from rock to country on Zen Rodeo (2001). 2010 sees the release of their eleventh studio opus, Von Humboldt Picnic.
