Les Frangines
Anna Coste and Jacinthe Madelin were childhood friends who both had a love of music and started to learn the guitar together. They are so close that they are often mistaken for sisters. They formed the band Les Frangines in 2015 and released their first EP 'Vagabondes' in 2018 which featured six tracks including the single 'Si J'Osais' and 'Demain dès l'aube' (2018). The girls are multi-talented musicians and are mostly self-taught, although Jacinthe studied the flute for 15 years. Their style is a gentle pop/folk and they use their literary studies to inform their lyrics, for example the poems of Victor Hugo. They also write songs about current affairs and world injustice, including their song 'Le Cri d'Alep' in 2016 which is about the humanitarian crisis in Syria.
The band amassed more than a million YouTube views in a very short space of time and in 2019 released a further single 'Donnez-moi' from their self-titled debut album 'Les Frangines' (2019).
