Guylaine Tanguay

Canadian country singer Guylain Tanguay was born in Girardville, Quebec, on September 23, 1972. A French-speaking guitarist and performer, she made a name for herself in a 1986 television contest organized by Quebec's Télé-Métropole, which gave her access to the stage and enabled her to open for artists such as Roch Voisine and Fernand Gignac. His first album, Perte de Contrôle (1988), recorded in France, was followed by a European tour and another production of pop songs, Sur Ce Parchemin (1998). After a period devoted to concerts, Guylaine Tanguay turned her repertoire to one of her favorite genres, country, with the albums Naturelle (2005), Passion Country (2010), the diptych Le Livre Vert (2012) and Le Livre Vert (La Suite) (2014) and Inspiration Country (2015), ranked #1 in sales like its successor Classique Country (2016). In 2006, the Quebec singer won SOCAN's "Mérite Country" award, and in 2010, Passion Country, released on CD and DVD, earned her the trophies for Album of Reinterpretation and Female Performer of the Year. Guylaine Tanguay was also invited to the On the Road Again show presented that year in Nashville. It was also in the country capital that the album 3764 Elvis Presley Blvd (2018), dedicated to Elvis Presley, was recorded, giving rise to a made-to-measure show. Without abandoning this musical style, Guylaine Tanguay also celebrates Christmas carols on the album Que les Fêtes Commencent (2018), preceded by the release of her autobiography, La Ligne droite. After the digital-only Sessions Nashville (2019), the albums Country (2020) and Ginette à Ma Façon (2022) are released.
