David Linx

An eclectic singer, David Linx got his start in jazz at an early age. When he was less than twenty, this James Baldwin enthusiast formed his first group, The Baldwin Project, and invited the black American writer to read his poems on A Lover's Question (1987). Other albums followed, before a lasting association with pianist Diederick Wissels starting with the album Kamoot (1992). David Linx worked with the cream of the Belgian music scene in a variety of formations, lending his beautiful organ to projects by Claude Nougaro, Michel Benita, Daniel Yvinec, André Ceccarelli, Khalil Chahine, Jon Hendricks and Laurent Cugny. Now a singing teacher at the Brussels Conservatory, he continues to record with Diederick Wissels and Paolo Fresu(Heartland, 2001), Maria Joao(Follow the Songlines in 2010), and jazz big bands.
