Chiloo
At just 19 years of age, young Parisian rapper Chiloo (a nickname derived from his real first name, Achille) stands out from the crowd of his peers with a style of songwriting that is as striking for its depth and maturity as it is for its ability to blend vocals and rap on tracks that straddle the border between styles. He first came to prominence while still wiping the floor of high school, thanks to freestyles posted on Instagram and reposted by influential accounts. Things quickly took off, notably with a track, "L au pluriel", in which he expresses his anger at violence against women. The media picked up on this, calling the young artist a "feminist rapper". Building on this reputation, he released "Dessein", a Latin-tinged track that heralded his first EP, Promesses à Tenir, which was released in May 2020.
