Melanz Nasyon
Melanz Nation is a group formed in 1995 around Stéphane Grondin, a maloya historian and author of books and songs. His aim is to keep this traditional Réunionese music alive. The original line-up includes his friends from the tough neighborhoods of Saint-Joseph. On vocals Thomas Medor, Fabrice Camillo, Huguette Hoarau, Marie-Paule Payet, Patrice Payet, Jessica Tacite, sait Yannis Therezo, piker Emmanuel Assati, tumbaet congas Sébastien Carpaye. They are accompanied by dancers Julie Fontaine and Valérie Parmanum. 1999 saw the release of Anao, the first album of maloya kabaré. It includes the group's founding titles, "Melanz Nazyon", "Estefan" and "Anao". Five albums were released between 2000 and 2016, including Larg pa maloya (2000), Gayar la rivé (2003), Perd pa tradizyon (2011) and Fyèr maloyèr (Maloya Since 1995) (2006).
