Eric Chesser
After spending some time as a straight-ahead country act singing about love, summer, and football, Eric Chesser remade himself as a smooth crooner for 2019's debut EP Jeans and a Flannel. Along the way, he adopted elements of R&B rhythms and country-pop, settling into an easy groove epitomized by his romantic 2020 single "Date Night."
A native of Illinois, Chesser began playing music as a child, inspired by the example set by his grandfather. As he grew up, he pursued athletics, hunting, and music equally. Once he earned a law degree, he headed to Nashville to pursue a career in country music. Styling himself after such traditional troubadours as George Strait, Chesser released his debut single, "Tailgate," in 2015, with "I Can't Read Your Mind" and "Good Times & Summer Days" following in 2016 and 2017, respectively. After 2018's "Yes," he issued the digital EP Jeans and a Flannel in 2019. By 2020's "Date Night," Chesser smoothed out his rough edges, becoming more of a country crooner.
