Insatiable, le très prolifique Logic revient déjà avec un cinquième album. En 2018, Bobby avait enchaîné deux opus salués par la critique : YSIV et Bobby Tarantino. Toujours chez Def Jam et avec l’appui du fidèle producteur 6ix, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind gonfle les muscles pour mieux s'exporter. Conviant pour la première fois Eminem sur Homicide et ses sons d'orgue inquiétants, rendant au passage hommage à Jay-Z, le rappeur du Maryland étale ses facilités techniques : un flow ultrarapide, précis, que les béats collent au corps. Le tout avec un talent certain de lyriciste qui replace le texte au centre (« I don't want to fuckin' listen to you spit your rap someone else wrote »), le rapprochant encore plus de Slim Shady.
Le rappeur du Maryland continue d'énumérer sa culture cinéma, ses alter ego, ses doutes sur la gloire ou les réseaux sociaux (Clickbait, Icy, Still Ballin, Cocaine), tout en lâchant – encore – quelques déclarations au génie flingué de Kanye West ("I ain’t bipolar Kanye make me wish I was cause that level of genius the meanest.") sur Wannabe. Avec Wiz Khalifa, Gucci Mane et même son père sur BOBBY, Logic enchaîne quelques très bons feats et profite de Clickbait pour remettre en place Charlamagne tha God du show radio The Breakfast Club. Beaucoup diront que c'est impeccable mais lisse et attendu, d'autres qu'il entre dans la cour des rappeurs les plus prometteurs.
