Produit par Ryan Leslie, le premier album de Cassie offre un R&B assez prévisible, malgré des prétentions pop affichées, et l'apport de sons importés des Philippines.
Le tube « Me & U » (No 3 au Billboard) ouvre l'album et l'auditeur comprend vite qu'il faut toute la prestance de la jeune femme dans les vidéos pour vendre un titre manquant autant de relief.
« Long Way 2 Go » est le second simple extrait de Cassie, c'est également le deuxième titre sur l'album, si son succès est bien moindre, la rythmique fait preuve d'originalité avec un son de clavier venu des années 80. La voix reste toujours aussi fade.
Cassie est une longue suite de roucoulades plates, les quelques arpèges philippins sur « Just One Nite » viennent à peine en troubler la monotonie. Le principal souci ici est la voix par trop impersonelle de Cassie : les divas du R&B n'ont guère à craindre de Cassie, elles ne chantent pas dans la même cour.
