About Playlist
Formed in 1976 by Siouxsie Sioux and Steven Severin, Siouxsie & The Banshees were one of the most iconic and influential bands of the new wave and post-punk era, driven by the charisma of their singer and defined by several hits that will forever be ingrained in the public memory ("Hong Kong Garden", "Spellbound", "Happy House"...). Siouxsie & The Banshees had a close relationship with Robert Smith of the Cure, who acted as a replacement guitarist on the band’s 1979 tour and later formed The Glove with Siouxsie Sioux. Together they share the same unique vision of dark, direct rock music, bathed in goth influences but supported by catchy choruses. During their career, Siouxsie & The Banshees had several line-up changes, with Siouxsie and Severin being the only permanent members. Following their split in 1996, Siouxsie and the drummer Budgie continued as The Creatures, a band which they had formed together in the early 1980s.
