Founded in 1983 by Kristin Hersh and Tanya Donelly, the Throwing Muses spearheaded the U.S. indie rock scene during their short decade of activity.

Of a similar ilk to Pixies and The Breeders, they reached a sort of climax in 1991 with The Real Ramona, a third album which would be Donelly’s last as she left to start her own band, Belly… After several breaks and reformations, Hersh brought the Boston cult band back together with David Narcizo, the original drummer, and Bernard Georges, bassist since 1992.

Throwing Muses are as strong as ever, as are their changes of rhythm, psychedelic sparks and Kristin Hersh's unique vocals.
