Established in 2005, the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s CD label offers releases of core orchestral and choral masterpieces, as well as world premieres by living composers and specially recorded music for children. Most of the recordings are taken from live concerts performed in London – both more recent and archive performances. Featuring performances by current LPO Principal Conductor and Artistic Director Vladimir Jurowski, as well as former Principal Conductors including Beecham, Boult, Haitink, Solti, Tennstedt and Masur, the label offers a range of outstanding interpretations of works which reflect the diverse musical offering of the Orchestra and its programming. The label regularly receives critical accolades, with releases regularly being chosen as editor’s choice in Gramophone and BBC Music magazines, as well as several coveted Gramophone ‘Recording of the Month’ awards.
