Working For A Nuclear Free City
Manchester, U.K. outfit Working for a Nuclear Free City began as the studio project of Phil Kay (production, keyboards, vocals) and Gary McClure (guitars). In 2004 they adapted to the stage and added Kay's brother Jon on drums and Ed Hulme, who joined on bass and vocals, just a couple days before the first show. Showcasing a hypnotic assortment of rock and electronic music accompanied by layers of soft vocals, the recorded efforts include a self-titled album in October 2006 and the Rocket EP in March 2007. In addition, the band has also remixed such artists such as the Rakes and Starsailor. In 2013, Gary McClure released his first solo album, Wreaths, and a year later, Phil Kay dropped a solo set, Zoetrope, under the moniker King of the Mountains.
