John Waters
Though director John Waters is best known as the auteur of classic cult movies like Pink Flamingos, Polyester, and Hairspray, in the 2000s he began compiling holiday-themed collections of music that shared the same kitschy, campy aesthetic as his movies. Compilations like 2004's A John Waters Christmas and 2007's A Date with John Waters had a similar mix of novelty songs, tracks by obscure artists, and classics from the '50s and '60s that the soundtracks to his films had, proving once again that the "Pope of Trash" has an excellent ear, and eye, for the best of bad taste.
