Illenium is the recording alias of Nicholas Miller, a producer and DJ who brings unabashed sentimentality and melodicism to festival-ready dubstep and trap. After debuting with several singles in 2014, he began releasing guest-heavy full-lengths starting with 2016's Ashes. All three of his albums reached the Top Ten of Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart, and 2019's Ascend hit number one. Originally from San Francisco, Miller began producing electronic music in 2008 and moved to Denver in 2013, where he performed and released music as Illenium. His self-titled debut EP appeared on Los Angeles-based Prep School Recordings that year, followed by Risen in early 2014. The releases were well-received within the EDM community, and Miller issued additional singles as well as remixing songs by ODESZA, Dawn Golden, Oh Wonder, and others. He's performed at festivals including Decadence NYE and Global Dance Festival, in addition to solo tours. His single "I'll Be Your Reason" was released by Nest (a sublabel of Skrillex's OWSLA label) in 2015, and his full-length debut, Ashes, appeared in early 2016 on Seeking Blue and reached number six on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. In 2017, Illenium returned with his second full-length album, Awake, which peaked at number three on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart. A remix set of that album arrived the next year, along with a slew of singles, including "God Damnit" with Call Me Karizma and "Gold (Stupid Love)" with Excision and Shallows. More singles continued to appear in 2019, including "Pray" featuring Kameron Alexander and "Good Things Fall Apart" with Jon Bellion, leading up to the August release of Illenium's third LP, Ascend. Issued by Astralwerks, the album topped Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums chart and reached number 14 on the Billboard 200, helped by the success of the hit single "Takeaway," a collaboration with the Chainsmokers and singer Lennon Stella. ~ Paul Simpson

Electronic/Dance - Released September 21, 2017 | Seeking Blue
The sophomore album from Illenium, 2017's Awake, features more of the San Francisco-born/Colorado-based DJ's lyrical, dance-oriented electronic pop. The album follows 2015's Ashes, which peaked at number six on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. Buoyed by previously released cuts like "Fractures," "Feel Good," and "Walking Away," Awake fared even better, peaking at number three. Showcased on Awake are guest appearances by the Sky, Kerli, Daya, and others. Featured is the single "Leaving." ~ Matt Collar
Dance - Released August 16, 2019 | Astralwerks
Ascend couldn't be a more appropriate title for Illenium's third album. The Denver-based EDM producer has been constantly on the rise since he began releasing singles in 2014, and both of his first two albums reached the Top Ten of Billboard's Dance/Electronic albums chart. Ascend hit the pole position, additionally debuting at number 14 on the Billboard 200. All of which is apropos for the artist's most accessible, earnest, and emotional collection of songs yet. Moving away from the festival-friendly dubstep and trap of his earlier work, this is an album of intense, personal songs dealing with subjects such as drug abuse and toxic relationships. The extensive list of guest producers and vocalists include X Ambassadors, Bipolar Sunshine, Foy Vance, and Georgia Ku. The album's biggest hit single, "Takeaway," is a collaboration with the Chainsmokers and singer Lennon Stella.
