In spite of its name, and its superior sound, this is not the disc to start with to discover Wet Willie, though it does have its virtues. The ten songs are mostly comprised of the band's singles, and they do play loud and hard throughout, but that's not the point. The group's live cuts and some of their longer studio jams were more central to their sound and what they were about that this stuff, which was intended for radio station consumption. Not that this stuff is bad -- "Keep On Smilin'," "Leona," "Everything That 'Cha Do (Will Come Back to You)," "Dixie Rock," "Red Hot Chicken," and "Airport" would be great records in anybody's catalog. It's just that you can get them as part of a much better anthology.
