Too High to Riot is an appropriate title for the second proper full-length by Paris-born, New York-based rapper Bas. The MC's brash rhymes touch on subjects like police brutality and inner-city struggles (particularly on closing song "Black Owned Business"), but there's also a sedated feel to the tracks, fitting for drug-themed tracks like "Methylone." The production is clear and atmospheric, sometimes recalling cloud rap acts like Main Attrakionz, especially apropos given the fact that this album contains a song titled "Clouds Never Get Old."
