Not to be confused with the Canadian group bearing the same name, this German band predates that Kingston, Ontario-based outfit by at least three years. Coincidentally, both groups share a similar sound: folk-rock with an emphasis on Celtic-rock arrangements presumably influenced by the Pogues. This recording, whose initials stand for "the album formerly known as hone in motion," is their third album and was released in conjunction with the band's tenth anniversary. Amid the selection of traditional songs lie pieces by Eric Bogel, Bobby Sands, Woody Guthrie, and Phil Coulter. The most interesting song is "The Holy Ground," which boasts a ska beat replete with horn section and "ska-gita." Lead singer and multi-instrumentalist Markus Brachtendorf is responsible for the arrangements and the pulse of the band. He also fronts another group, Lecker Sachen, who favor the unlikely combination of hip-hop and traditional Irish instruments.
