Discovered by Flying Lotus's Brainfeeder label at the beginning of the previous decade, Californian artist TOKiMONSTA had been able to negotiate the shift into the mainstream, and transform – without denying herself – her earlier abstract/psychedelic trips of the LA beat scene into more mainstream material by adding voices like Yuna or Selah Sue on her previous long format Lune Rouge in 2017. This album was composed following a double brain operation, and scooped a Grammy nomination. Oasis Nocturno should propel her at least as high, given how many repeat-able tracks it packs in, like the unstoppable single Fried for the Night, a mix of trap, rap and funk with the awesome rapper duo Atlanta EarthGang; One Day (feat. Bibi Bourelly and Jean Deaux), which will remind older listeners of the halcyon days of R&B and TLC; Get Me Some (with Drew Love and Dumbfoundead), a kind of cross between Mark Ronson and Kaytranada; and this irresistible deep house vintage banger, Renter's Anthem. A hybrid album, inspired, dancing: TOKiMONSTA hit the bull's eye again. © Smaël Bouaici/Qobuz

Sofia Coppola on Air

To celebrate 20 years since the release of her film “The Virgin Suicides”, Qobuz takes a look back at some of the top musical moments from the films of Sofia Coppola, like her collaborations with French duo Air or Thomas Mars from the band Phoenix.

Erased Tapes, a Not-so-classic Label

Since its birth in 2007, Erased Tapes has made a name for itself as one of the most innovative labels of the last 15 years and enjoyed great commercial success. Although some fail to see past its neoclassical shopfront (Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds), the London-based label explores the outer limits of ambient, electronica and experimental with a catalogue that's smoothly curated by the German Robert Raths. Qobuz takes a closer look.

Warp, 30 Years of Groundbreaking Music

Warp, the record label which led to the blossoming of some of the most boundary-pushing artists of the electronic music scene, such as Aphex Twin, LFO, Boards of Canada, Autechre, and Squarepusher, now has their catalogue available on Qobuz. It’s the perfect opportunity to revisit the history of Britain’s best-respected independent label.
