Mail Order Justice is an album of close fusion breaks, usually clocking in at a midtempo pace but often relieved by a few drum & bass breakdowns. It's obvious that Simmonds and Gordon are excellent programmers and old studio hands, following up the beats closely with deep bass licks and atmospheric effects. Simmonds' own understated, half-spoken vocals don't exactly improve tracks like "Prophet & the Fool," but the production more than makes up for any lack of vocal prowess. Guests include Dagmar Krause and, on the title track, rapper Simon Anniky.
