The Wild Beasts are getting unruly. Botoxed synths, virile guitars and deepened voices make Last Night All My Dreams Came True an odyssey that retraces the steps of the last five albums, all the way to The Devil's Palace, a revisited, grandiloquent and grave version of The Devil's Crayon which came out on their first album Limbo, Panto (2008). More ferocious than ever, these thirteen tracks reveal their animal side more than the androgynous lyricism which we have come to expect from the Englishman.
Recorded in London's RAK studios in just two days in the summer of 2017, this opus raises the bar a notch. "It’s us as tight and slick as we ever have been. And it’s also us giving the fewest fucks we’ve ever given. There’s a sense of celebration and destructiveness combined, a sense that the fetters are off.
