With their third album, Going North, 22 Jacks continues to refine and improve their punk-pop style, honing their riffs to razor-sharp hooks. Producer Ed Stasium may give the album a bit too heavy of a gloss, but 22 Jacks cut through that by virtue of songcraft, enthusiastic performances, and sheer emotional pull. It may not quite match the quality of their debut, but Going North does proves that the band is continuing to grow.
