Bonney's second album is a subdued affair that sounds much more American than Australian, with its reflection of rural Americana. The careful, acoustic-oriented arrangements prominently featuring multi-instrumentalist J.D. Foster (ex-Dwight Yoakam), who also helped write the music. Although very well received in some critical quarters, he's not quite the American (or quasi-American) poet on the order of Johnny Cash or other of his inspirations.
