Sun of Latin Music may have been Palmieri's finest album, but his great period extended beyond it. Rarely did he top some of the cuts on this fairly obscure release from 1976: particularly cuts like "Revolt/La Libertad," in his experimental vein, or "Pa La Ocha Tambo," which he recorded wearing his blow-the-roof-off hat. A plus: there are vocals by the fine Ismael Quintana, once Palmieri's regular sonero.
