The Los Angeles-based quartet Beware of Safety offers up its second studio release of aggressive, atmospheric bliss with DOGS. With soaring, spirited lead guitar work coupled with gravel-churning, gritty rock, Beware of Safety’s latest is a concoction of neo-progressive musicality with a post-grunge sensibility. Each song on the 10-track DOGS also reflects a dichotomy between soulful ambience and harsh-and-heavy groove rock, a delicate balance which is accentuated by the brilliant mastering courtesy of Dave Collins (Black Sabbath, the Police, Soundgarden).
