Doan's ensemble settings for harp guitar take full advantage of the instrument's expressive range and rich timbral palette. This is contemporary instrumental music at its finest; however, its thoughtful, often sublime lyricism and subtle classical music influences didn't add up to commercial success when the album was first released. It's still available and is definitely worth going out of your way to find.
