Happy go lucky, quick-paced Brit-tunes with a childish-sounding, ebullient vocalist who sounds a little like a less helium-ized Michael Quercio (Three O'Clock) or Colin Blunstone in Mark Richardson. Thirteen songs that could have been written for '60s girl groups, only given Andie Liddle's pumping, plugging, piston-drums (Boom! indeed). Add Richardson's ? and the Mysterians-style farfisa organ -- when he's not playing second guitar to Justin Cunningham -- and you've got a mishmash, hodgepodge, melange of go-go stuff, as high-energy power pop as it is wiry, quirky, and mad (Milkshakes meet Toy Dolls without nostalgia?), all big-tooth grins, chocolate milkshakes, fizzy drinks, and even advanced Guided by Voices/Zombies-type harmonies (see the church-organ-only song called "Make a Wish"), (sure to be a favorite) -- the sort of curveball you'd expect more from XTC or the Sneetches. Cheers, mateys!
