Since Bloodrock's studio albums often sounded leaden, as if they were a live jam band that couldn't figure out how to translate their sound to the studio, it wouldn't be an unnatural supposition that if their first live effort, appropriately titled Bloodrock "Live," would be more dynamic and exciting than the average Bloodrock album. Ironically, it's worse. Given the opportunity to lay back and jam, the group seizes the day, turning in meandering, indulgent performances that are utterly plain and characterless. Five albums into their career, and Bloodrock hasn't changed or persevered: They merely stagnated.
