After the release of the first part of their collaboration in 2016, Dizzy Wright and Demrick reunited once more for an EP full of ideas and mastery. Their complementarity, while of course musical, is also based on one of their shared passions, the central theme of the project: weed. Cultivation, Ridin High, Rolled Right… The track names and cover art leave no room for doubt. From the outset, the rappers strike hard: the jazzy Hotline makes way for Medicated and its otherworldly contemporary trap elements, to then come together on We Ain’t the Same and a more full-on sound. These enticing opening tracks then make way for different sounding tracks on Blaze With Us 2. Sounds of Jamaica on Don’t Worry, California on the excellent ZipLoc, the meanderings of their muddled brains on Woke Up… From beginning to end, we are taken on a trip from madness to mischief by these two partners in crime that we would love to see get together more often. © Brice Miclet/Qobuz
