Although the single for Hex's "A Street Scene" offers only two songs, it must be noted that the lone B-side, "Reserve Shot Gunman," was inexplicably left off Bark Psychosis' pair of singles compilations. Recorded during the sessions for Hex, "Reserve Shot Gunman" unsurprisingly took a long time to complete; it sounds like some heavy tape editing was necessary to assemble it. Doubtlessly a phenomenal track, it's not much of a surprise that it was left off the record; filled with feverishly rumbling drums and some rather unholy squalls of guitar, it's far too punishing to fit the glacial, soft nature of the album. As for the A-side (it's the album version), well, it's glacial and it's soft, and it's an ambient pop song like few others. A rush and a hush and the bliss is yours.
