M.I.K.I.

The German rapper M.I.K.I. was born Michél Pulijc on April 29, 1989 in Castrop-Rauxel. He comes from a Croatian-German family and grew up in Herne in the Ruhr region, where he still lives today. He has been playing soccer since the age of three, including for the youth teams of VfL Bochum and Westfalia Herne. His musical career began in his hometown at the Cranger Kirmes in 2011, where he won the title of "Revierkönig" together with musician Diamond with the track "Wenn der Himmel weint". In the same year, M.I.K.I. wrote the song "Leonardo Dede Abschiedslied" for Borussia Dortmund footballer Dedê. In 2015, he performed the track during the half-time break of Dedê's last match in front of 80,000 spectators at Dortmund's Westfalenstadion. His debut album Malochersohn is released in 2013 and reaches number 94 in the German charts. The album Kurvenmukke followed in the fall of 2016 and climbed into the top 10 of the German charts, reaching number 29 in Austria and number 36 in Switzerland. In collaboration with Reece, Akkord and DeoZ, he released the label sampler Suffkoppkommando 2 in October 2017, which reached number 29 in Germany. With the album Kurvenmukke 2, M.I.K.I. was able to build on his previous successes in September 2020. The longplayer climbs to number 6 in Germany. M.I.K.I. releases the single "Ich lass mich nicht verbieten" (2021) with DeoZ. The track reaches number 55 in the German charts. The album Kurvenmukke 3 (2022) is followed by another longplayer, Ich wollte nur Musik machen, in early 2024. At number 8, the album climbs into the German top 10.
