Margot Lefebvre

Born on April 20, 1936 in Montreal (Canada) and died on December 19, 1989, Margot Lefebvre was a Quebec pop singer. In her teens, she took part in several amateur singing contests on the radio. She was later invited to perform on CBC in Toronto. Her first big hit came in 1960, with the song " La Madone ". In 1961, she alternated hosting the musical program Le Club des Autographes with Fernand Gignac. She topped the radio charts in 1963 with her hit " C'est la faute au Bossa Nova ". In 1964, she was chosen to host the program À la Catalogne until 1967. In 1965, she was elected Miss Radio-Télévision at the Gala des artistes, and scored another hit on Quebec radio with the song " Chacun garde dans son coeur ". In 1970, she climbed the radio charts for the last time with " Ils ont changé ma chanson ". During the 1970s, her career was in freefall, and her radio and TV appearances became increasingly rare. She attempted a comeback in 1981, but failed. She appeared in concert for the last time in 1988, in the show De Jeunesse À Aujourd 'hui, where she sang her greatest hits.
