Songwriter and vocalist Lavi$H creates a style of spacious R&B with the detailed production of pop and flashes of raw energy borrowed from mainstream rap. After working independently for several years, Lavi$H joined forces with Def Jam for the release of his 2023 EP You Made a Big Mistake. Lavi$H was born in Lusaka, Zambia before relocating to Winnipeg, the largest city in the Canadian province of Manitoba. He began making music in his late teens, developing a style that incorporated elements of rap, R&B, and even dancehall as he found his sound. He moved to Toronto, where he performed live and released several tracks independently, absorbing the influence of Drake and other artists testing the limits of R&B and pop. Lavi$H signed on with Def Jam, releasing his first widely promoted and distributed single, "World In My Hands," in February of 2023. Seven-song EP You Made a Big Mistake followed in June of the same year.
